Voorstraat 183, 3311EN Dordrecht, NL

So last weeks it has been just the three us (Jingni, Javier and me) since Ricardo and Zeljko had to join us using Skype and email from abroad. The team has been working on the UEF proposal, CS Queensday event and the Urban Gardening. Especially the last one is what's done physically in the Voorstraat at this moment and in this post I want to wrap up the last few weeks on the Urban Gardening process.
The first LIGHT-workshop is coming up tomorrow with the second one following next week. For this workshops we have ordered the LED's, lights and already tried some things out ourselves to test and see which of our ideas could be done.
To the right you see part of the ordered LEDs, next to this we also have LED lightbulbs. And we are experimenting with chickenwire, to serve as the shape and rigidity of the lamp but also as the powersource (or distributer) for the LEDs.
View the full post for more pictures! And/Or join us in this fun workshop!
The next few weeks we have two workshops coming up. The first next Wednesday (school holiday) for children from the neighborhood "lichtspel." We are going to make light designs on paper and then make it for real using throwies. On Wednesday March 3, we're doing something similar but with the shop owners and inhabitants of the area.
For more information check the attached pdf files: Lichtspel (for children), Licht (shop owners and inhabitants). Next to that three more things are happening: interviews, start-up of the cultural probe (attached .pdf) and the ongoing re-tea-time. Today the vouchers and posters will be finished, and you will see those appear here later this afternoon.
After our own measurements it became clear there is energy in fruit, but not a huge amount. To load one iPhone you need 595 apparently:
04/02/2010: Some more pictures of what the Voorstraat 183 looks like now after another day of work on the space. Some more carpet, cleaning and display in the window to update the place.
03/02/2010: Today we put the red carpet out in preparation of the Voorstraat VIPS who may drop by for a cup of tea. Using some recycled carpet borrowed furniture and the Ikea bits and pieces our display window is now the place for a nice cup whilst viewing and being viewed. Now all we need is an 'open'-sign and some "customers".
